Craving adrenaline? Flachau is fun!

You’re in the mood for a higher pulse on holiday? In and around Flachau your summer quickly turns into a playground for adventure – with rafting, canyoning, paragliding and more fun sports.

At almlust we no longer run the tours ourselves, but we work with carefully selected outdoor professionals who know the rivers, gorges and mountains of Salzburger Land inside out.

What this means for you:

  • we know many of the tours and providers personally

  • we can tell you honestly which tour fits your fitness level and your group

  • you get individual advice instead of just a long list of links

Booking and guiding are handled directly by our partners – almlust is your basecamp and your “control centre” for choosing the right adventure.

Our tours have a low minimum number of participants so that we can give each guest a unique experience. With unforgettable images in your head, you’ll find yourself back at almlust, with the endorphins still sparkling in your blood for days.

Tours for beginners, families & adrenaline junkies

Our outdoor partners offer a wide range of tours – from “let’s just try it once” to “we want to really feel it today”:

  • For beginners & families
Calmer rafting tours and easier canyoning routes with lots of fun, splashing and enough time to get used to water, rock and equipment.

  • For adventure lovers
Canyoning with jumps, natural slides, abseiling sections and narrower gorge passages – sometimes playful, sometimes more technical, always well guided.

You don’t need to be a pro – the important thing is to be honest about your fitness and how much action you really want. We and the guides will take it from there.

  • For adrenaline junkies
More challenging whitewater stretches, sportier canyons or tandem paragliding with wide-open views and serious butterflies in your stomach.

Out with the pros – we advise, partners guide

Safety always comes first with fun sports. That’s why we only work with partners we trust:

  • experienced certified guides or equivalently trained outdoor instructors

  • checked and well-maintained equipment such as wetsuits, helmets and harnesses

  • thorough safety briefings before each tour

  • tours in small to medium-sized groups, so there’s enough time for technique, questions and everyone in the group

We at almlust act as your filter: we know from experience which tour feels more like “family fun” and which one is a proper “push your limits” challenge.

How your fun-sport day works

  1. Advice at almlust
You come to reception and tell us what you’re looking for – water, height, a little or a lot of adrenaline – and how fit you and your group are.

  2. Choosing a tour & getting in touch
We recommend suitable tours and give you the contact details of our outdoor partners. Booking and payment are then handled directly between you and the provider.

  3. Getting to the meeting point
You drive your own car to the agreed meeting point or – depending on the location – travel by bus and train using the Guest Mobility Ticket Salzburg.

  4. Into the adventure
On site you receive your equipment and a briefing. Then it’s out with your guide – into the boat, into the gorge or into the air.

  5. Back to almlust
With wet hair, pleasantly tired muscles and a big grin on your face, you come back to almlust, cool down in the natural pond or pool, warm up in the sauna – and maybe start planning the next adventure.

FAQ – fun sports around almlust

Can I book rafting and canyoning tours directly with almlust?

We no longer run our own tours and we don’t sell fun-sport packages. But we’re happy to advise you at almlust, recommend suitable tours and give you the contacts of our trusted outdoor partners. Booking is then done directly with the provider.

How do I get to the starting points of the tours?

Most tours have a fixed meeting point, which you usually reach with your own car. Depending on the location, you can sometimes also use public transport and the Guest Mobility Ticket Salzburg. You’ll get precise information during our consultation at almlust and from the partner when you book.

Is the equipment included in the tour price?

In most cases, our outdoor partners provide all the necessary equipment such as wetsuit, helmet and harness. You generally only need to bring swimwear, a towel and sturdy sports shoes that can get wet. Exact details are given at the time of booking.

Do I need previous experience for rafting, canyoning or paragliding?

Most family and beginner tours don’t require special previous experience – you should be able to swim and have a basic level of fitness. For more demanding tours and for paragliding, higher requirements apply, which you’ll discuss directly with the provider.

From what age can children take part?

That depends on the specific tour and the operator. Many rafting and easier canyoning tours are available from a certain minimum age. We – or the partner – will tell you exactly which tour is suitable for your family constellation.
