Absolut Park – Austria’s biggest freestyle playground
For everyone who likes their skiing with a bit more airtime: the nearby Absolut Park at Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl–Kleinarl is Austria’s largest freestyle fun park.
On roughly 1.5 kilometres of park you’ll find around 100 obstacles for freeskiers and snowboarders – from kickers and rails to boxes, jibs and creative lines, plus a separate jib and cross area.
Whether you just want to watch, hit your first small features or really push your park riding – this park will definitely upgrade your ski days.
Cross-country & winter walking – 180 km of tracks
If you prefer to experience winter at your own pace, the cross-country and winter walking options in the region are spot on. In Flachau and its neighbours you can enjoy:
-
a cross-country network of about 180 km in the Salzburger Sportwelt
-
the well-known Tauernloipe trail with around 60 km, linking several villages
-
3 high-altitude tracks nearby: Rossbrand, Gnadenalm and Obergassalm
Many trails are groomed for both classic and skating styles. Use is often free of charge, and with unified signage you’ll find your way around easily.
From almlust you can reach cross-country entries in a short time – and several winter walking and snowshoe routes start directly in or close to the village.

FAQ – winter & ski holidays at almlust
How far is almlust from the slopes?
The valley station in Flachau is just a few minutes away: about 500 metres on foot along an easy path through the village, or by ski bus in one stop to the lifts. From there you’re right inside Snow Space Salzburg.
Where do I get my ski pass?
The best prices are usually available when you buy your ski passes online in advance. In winter you can also get ski passes conveniently at the lift ticket desk at almlust reception, so you don’t have to queue at the valley station.
Is almlust also suitable for non-skiers?
Absolutely. Besides skiing and snowboarding, the region offers a large cross-country network, winter walking trails, snowshoe and ski touring options, toboggan runs and many excursion destinations. At almlust itself you have the natural pond, indoor pool, sauna and cosy spaces for reading, playing and relaxing.
Do I need a car in winter?
A car is handy, but not essential. Many things can be reached on foot or by ski bus. For more distant cross-country tracks, ski tours or excursions a car is convenient – we’ll help you plan your days so that the journeys remain as short and simple as possible.
Can I book ski tours, freeride and snowshoe tours directly at almlust?
Yes. Tours with mountain and ski guide Christoph can be arranged directly through almlust. Together you’ll decide which terrain, difficulty and duration are right for you – and turn a winter day into a safe and memorable mountain experience.
